Children and adults will see and learn about hundreds of different insects, honeybees, spiders and reptiles at the annual Insect and Garden Festival held at Quail Botanical Gardens. The event is Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants will be able to hold insects, and for the brave, even taste them. Families can also enjoy crafts, bug-collecting, gardening information and live animal demonstrations. “Regular food” will be for sale as well.
The event is sponsored by the County’s Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, Quail Botanical Gardens and Lloyd Pest Control. Quail Botanical Gardens is located at 230 Quail Gardens Drive in Encinitas (Google Map).
Admission to the event is free for children 12 and under, $10 for adults, and $7 for students, seniors and active duty military. Dollar-off coupons are available on the Quail Botanical Gardens Web site, or on the Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measure’s site.
