Hundreds of items including vehicles, furniture, appliances, electronics, jewelry, artwork, antiques, and collectibles will be auctioned off by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency’s Public Administrator/Public Guardian (PA/PG) on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
The event will take place at the County Operations Annex in Kearny Mesa, 5201-A Ruffin Road, San Diego (Google Map). Registration and viewing of auction items begins at 8:00 a.m. Automobiles will be the first items on the block with bidding beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. Customers are required to both pay for and pick up the auction property by 2:00 p.m. that day.
“The County auction offers the public unique and everyday items they won’t find anywhere else,” said Public Administrator Lori Bays. “They will find great bargains while benefiting the estates we administer.”
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the estates administered by the County. Pictures of some of the items for sale are available on the PA/PG department’s Web site.
PA/PG investigates and administers the estates of persons who die with no will or without an appropriate person willing or able to act as an administrator. PA/PG manages the affairs of 300-400 estates at any given time.
PA/PG also investigates conservatorship matters and serves as the legally appointed guardian for elderly and disabled persons found by the Court to be unable to manage their own assets and personal care.
The personal property estate sales are held on the third Saturday of odd-number months. For additional information about items available for sale, please call (858) 694-3500.
