The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is confirming two more deaths associated with the pandemic H1N1 Influenza virus.
The deaths are:
- A 57-year-old male, died July 13, with multiple underlying medical conditions.
- A 25-year-old male, died July 15, with multiple underlying medical conditions.
Including these two individuals, there have been nine H1N1-related deaths in San Diego County. There are 641 confirmed cases of H1N1 Influenza in the county.
The public is encouraged to stay home from work or school if they have influenza-like illness or symptoms similar to the seasonal flu which includefever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
If an individual with underlying medical conditions is experiencing influenza-like illness or symptoms, they should contact their primary care physician in a timely manner.
