The County's Lakeside Community Center will host a week filled with physical activities, sports programs and healthy education at its Outdoor Adventure Day Camp from Aug. 11-15.
The camp session will include a variety of outdoor activities such as rock climbing, surfing and overnight camping in a park. Classes will incorporate traditional camping programs with team-building activities. Campers will gain a sense of accomplishment and increased confidence, as well as an appreciation for the outdoors.
The day camp is open to kids ages 8 to 11. It runs from 8 a.m. to about 3 p.m.

County of San Diego Parks and Recreation offers many community programs, and maintains more than 90 parks covering 41,500 acres that are open year-round.
