The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) is reporting the 13th death associated with the pandemic H1N1 Influenza virus. The death is a 72-year-old female with underlying medical conditions.
To date, San Diego County has had 809 confirmed cases of pandemic H1N1 Influenza, including 13 deaths.
The public is encouraged to stay home from work or school if they have influenza-like illness or symptoms similar to the seasonal flu which include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
If an individual with underlying medical conditions is experiencing influenza-like illness or symptoms, they should contact their primary care physician in a timely manner.
