The San Diego County Registrar of Voters is encouraging those who want a voice in the upcoming Presidential General Election on Nov. 4 to register to vote. Registrar of Voters Deborah Seiler expects more residents to register after viewing the first debate between presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain.
The deadline to register is Oct. 20. Residents who want to register have several options.
Registration forms are available at www.sdvote.com as well as at the Registrar of Voters office at 5201 Ruffin Road in Kearny Mesa, all U.S. Post Offices, public libraries and the Department of Motor Vehicles offices. Registration form (PDF)
Residents need to fill out a registration form if they are not currently registered, have recently moved, or changed their name. Voters can check their registration status online.
All forms must be postmarked or delivered to the Registrar of Voters no later than midnight, Oct. 20.
Once you are registered, you can find your designated polling place and access specific ballot choices at www.sdvote.com.
