Marines, pilots, local residents, airport staff and others will join together to collect toys for the annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive on Dec. 13 at two local airports.
Marines in their dress blue uniforms will accept new, unwrapped gifts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ramona Airport and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fallbrook Airport.
Local aircraft, as well as Marine aircraft and vehicles, will be on display at each airport’s public viewing area. Ramona Airport's public viewing area is on Montecito Road about two miles west of State Route 67; Fallbrook Airport's public viewing area is on South Mission Road about five miles north of State Route 76.
Pilots are invited to fly in to either airport with donations, and a special cook-out is planned for participants.
Toys For Tots has distributed more than 370 million toys to more than 173 million needy children since it began in 1947.
