An estimated 4,150 gallon sewage spill occurred yesterday evening at 7011 Linda Vista Road in San Diego. The spill, which was caused by a grease blockage in a main sewer line, started 5:29 PM and ended at 8:15 PM when crews from the City of San Diego removed the blockage.
Approximately 3,125 gallons of the sewage was recovered so an estimated 1,025 gallons of sewage flowed into a storm drain that leads to the San Diego River. Signs warning of sewage contamination are posted at San Diego River outlet at Dog Beach in Ocean Beach and will remain in place until samples confirm the water is safe for recreational use.
