The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation wants to notify residents to leave the alcohol at home when visiting Hilton Head County Park, which features an aquatic center with a pirate-themed water-spray for children.
Possession of alcoholic beverages will not be allowed when the park is open to the public. The alcohol-free ordinance will take effect immediately and continue through October 2010.
“Summer is the perfect time for families to get out and enjoy the County parks,” said Brian Albright, Director of County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation. “The alcohol-free regulations at Hilton Head Park will ensure that all visitors will have an enjoyable time.”
The ban extends to the entire park and Sheriff’s deputies will issue citations to those who attempt to violate the alcohol ban. Signs will be posted to reflect the alcohol restrictions.
Hilton Head Park is located at 16005 Hilton Head Road, El Cajon, California 92019 and park hours are from 7:30 a.m. to dusk. The 10-acre park also features sports fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, exercise stations and barbecue pits.
