Dos Picos County Park’s Third Annual Haunted Trail Hikes have been a huge success. So far more than 300 people have been frightened out of their hiking boots and they will get another chance this Saturday, October 30.
Dos Picos Park staff also needs volunteer ghouls and goblins to help “haunt” the enchanted forest trail. Haunted Hike volunteers are asked to arrive at the Dos Picos Park at 6:00 p.m. and stay until 9:00 p.m. There will be a brief orientation and dinner will be provided for all volunteers. Volunteers should bring their own scary but family-friendly costume and wear comfortable shoes. The free Haunted Hikes begin at 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The Haunted Trail Hikes include a moderate walk with some hills and uneven surfaces. Younger hikers must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone is encouraged to bring a flashlight. Dos Picos County Park is located at 17953 Dos Picos Park Road in Ramona.
Interested volunteers are asked to register in advance with Ranger Kyle Icke at (760) 789-2220 or kyle.icke@sdcounty.ca.gov.
