Free outdoor activities for the entire family are being offered this weekend in commemoration of the 16th annual National Trails Day.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to get outside and get fit while experiencing our County trails,” according to Renee Bahl, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department, which is hosting the event.
The public can enjoy guided equestrian and mountain bike riding, a tracking hike, volunteer exhibits, a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo, live music and tours of the historic Adobe Ranch House, which was built almost 200 years ago. In addition, a raffle ride and hike is scheduled, and is open to equestrians, hikers and mountain bikers.
The National Trails Day celebration is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Parking and admission are free. Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve is located at 12122 Canyonside Park Drive.
