County Director of Mental Health Services Alfredo Aguirre has been selected as the 2008 “Mental Health Person of the Year” by a panel of representatives from the mental health stakeholder community.
Among his many accomplishments, Aguirre was lauded for his efforts to implement Mental Health Services Act (Prop. 63) programs and his state-level work with cultural competency and suicide prevention, along with his accessibility and responsiveness to the mental health community.
This prestigious annual award will be presented at the 22nd Annual Mental Health Recognition Dinner on May 30.
