Summary:
The primary responsibility of Central Projects and Accounting Services (CPAS) is to provide accounting support activities to various County departments and outside governmental agencies. As owner of the Oracle Fixed Assets Module, CPAS maintains the system of record for the County’s Capital Assets. As owner of the Oracle Projects and Grants (PNG) Module, CPAS staff performs the core responsibilities as Central Project Control (CPC) which is responsible for reviewing and approving Projects, Awards, Miscellaneous Transaction Batch (MTB) and Internal Agreements, and other PNG maintenance activities as necessary.
As a division of Accounting and Fiscal Control (AFC), in providing accounting services to other County Departments, CPAS accountants prepare many of the financial statements which are presented in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Additionally, CPAS staff prepare the Annual Road Report and coordinate the compilation of the annual Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) which is more commonly referred to as the Single Audit.
