Nganha “Ha” Dang

County of San Diego Agricultural Commissioner / Sealer of Weights and Measures

Nganha “Ha” Dang is the County’s Agricultural Commissioner and Sealer of Weights and Measures. As director of the Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures (AWM) Ha oversees a staff of 155 professionals whose services range from pesticide monitoring programs to ensure farmers and growers are using pesticides safety, to egg-inspection programs to prevent food-borne illnesses, and from inspections of store scanners to gas pumps and other devices that weigh or measure consumer purchases to ensure price accuracy.

Before being appointed to her current post, Ha served as the deputy director and program manager where she planned and directed AWM programs ranging from inspection to enforcement to public outreach, and as an agricultural / standards inspector.

Prior to joining the County of San Diego Ha was an inspector for Stanislaus County AWM, where she rose to the post of Deputy Agricultural Commissioner / Sealer. She also worked for Riverside County AWM and California Department of Food and Agriculture as an inspector.

Ha holds a Master’s in Public Administration in Public Management from CSU Dominguez Hills. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Horticultural Science from the University of Hawaii where she graduated with distinction.

She is from Viet Nam and immigrated to the United States as a teen.
