As part of a statewide accuracy and repeatability survey, Standards Enforcement staff from Agriculture, Weights and Measures participated in an all-day water-meter testing session Nov. 29. Representatives from the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Measurement Standards (DMS) and a private consultant also took part. Participants tested a variety of water meters made by different manufacturers at different flow rates and test volumes. They recorded results, along with testing methods and equipment used. The project is intended to survey and compare county meter testing labs around the state with the purpose of improving statewide testing procedure uniformity and the accuracy of water meter testing results.
