The San Diego County Board of Supervisors today appointed Supervisor Pam Slater-Price as its new chairwoman. Slater-Price previously served as chairwoman in 1994 and 1999. She was also selected to serve on over 30 committees. Her new committee assignments include membership on the board of directors and the executive committee of the San Diego Association of Governments. She will also serve as the chairwoman of the county's First Five Commission.

"As chairwoman, I'll have the opportunity to set priorities for the board and continue to work hard for my district," said Slater-Price. "I look forward to leading my peers as we work to make San Diego County a place known for its commitment to well-run government, smart growth, environmental stewardship, economic development, and a sunny disposition."

Supervisor Slater-Price will give the State of the County address at 6:00 pm on February 3 at the La Jolla Playhouse's newly built Potiker Theatre on the UCSD campus. Slater-Price will use the speech to outline her goals for the coming year.
