Slater-Price Designates North County TOT Recipients
Funds Will Promote North County Attractions
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors yesterday approved Supervisor
Pam Slater-Price's appropriation of $600,000 in Transient Occupancy Tax
(TOT) funds. The funds will support the activities of various non-profit
organizations, such as chambers of commerce and the San Diego North Convention
and Visitors Bureau, which help to promote tourism and economic development.
"Tourism is vital to the economic well-being of the North County,
and TOT funds help promote its many attractions," said Slater-Price.
"It is by sharing the North County with others that we are able to
fund the level of services that county residents have come to expect."
The Tourist Occupancy Tax is a special fee affixed to the price of all
hotel rooms in the county. Once a year the county distributes TOT funds
