Slater-Price Awards Community Projects Grants
Third District Sports Program to Benefit
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors today approved Chairwoman
Pam Slater-Price’s request to offer financial support to various
non-profit community organizations that provide services, plan events,
and manage programs throughout the county. The funds are allocated from
the county’s Community Projects grant program.
“By targeting relatively small grant amounts to worthwhile organizations
the county is able to improve quality-of-life in both my district and
throughout the region,” said Slater-Price. “These grants allow
non-profit organizations to take care of regional needs at the community-level.”
Among the organizations that will receive funds are:
- Rancho Bernardo Youth Soccer Association: $25,000 to assist with
costs associated with putting on the inaugural soccer tournament on
January 14-16, 2006.
- Elder Law and Advocacy: $22,000 to offset costs associated with conducting
a “Consumer Protection Day” event, taking place on February
4, 2006.
- Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego: $30,000 for their annual Gingerbread
City fundraising extravaganza.
Supervisor Slater-Price represents the Third Supervisorial District.
