Slater-Price Appoints Houlihan to Environmental Health
Advisory,
Roberts to Polinsky Center Boards
Also Makes Appointments to First Five & Law Library
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors this week approved Chairwoman
Pam Slater-Price’s request to appoint the Honorable Maggie Houlihan,
Encinitas city councilwoman, to the Environmental Health Advisory Board.
The board provides guidance to the county’s Department of Environmental
Health on major issues and programs. She also appointed Solana Beach Councilman
Dave Roberts as an alternate to the board of the Polinsky Children’s
Center, which provides emergency shelter for children in San Diego County.
“Maggie has a long history of public service and a strong background
on environmental issues that will be of great benefit to the advisory
board,” said Slater-Price. “Dave is an active member of the
community with previous experience working with the North County Adoptive
Parents Association and a business background. His contributions to the
Polinsky Center will be invaluable.”
The following are other appointments submitted by Supervisor Slater-Price
and approved by the Board of Supervisors:
- Carol Skiljan, an Encinitas resident and current member of the Encinitas
Union School District board, to the First 5 Commission of San Diego
County.
- Roland Achtel, a lawyer from Del Mar, to the San Diego County Law
Library Board of Trustees.
Supervisor Slater-Price represents the Third Supervisorial District.
