Slater-Price Releases Statement on County Pension Vote
Approved Plan To Save About $1.2 Billion Over 20-Year Period

SAN DIEGO – County Supervisor Pam Slater-Price, Third District, released the following statement on the county Board of Supervisor’s unanimous support today of the action regarding retiree health care benefits.

“The estimated health benefit liability has been reduced by $440 million, and the annual required contribution has been reduced by $44 million, creating an estimated savings of more than $1.2 billion over a 20-year period. We think this is a good plan – good for the retirees, the current employees, the taxpayers and the County of San Diego.”
