What is YOUR role as a Department Representative?

Being a Department Representative means that you are a member of the CECO Board of Directors (BOD). This is an important role. As a BOD member, you represent your department in the decisions made by CECO. The BOD elects the CECO Executive Committee, votes on recommendations, and approves fund allocations.

When appointed as a Department Representative, you serve a two-year term. At the end of the term, you may be re-appointed by your department or a new department representative may be appointed.

As a member of the Board of Directors, you may participate in the following activities:

 Board of Directors' Meetings
There is at least 3 BOD meetings during the year. This is the forum to discuss CECO goals, committee activities, campaign, and vote on recommendations.

 CECO/United Way Campaign Training
Conducted by the County's Campaign Coordinator along with representatives from United Way and CECO, this training prepares Department Represetatives and/or Deparment Campaign Coordinators for the annual United Way/CECO campaign.

 CECO Committees & Subcommittees
Participate or lead one of the following committees: Allocations, Public Relations, Annual Breakfast, and Campaign. Also, during the year, subcommittees may form to take on small projects.

 Awards Breakfast
The annual breakfast is where checks are awarded to grant recipients. This is a truly inspirational event that will certainly make you feel proud of what CECO does for the community .
