MORNING SESSION:
Meeting was called to order at 9:05 a.m.

1.         SUBJECT:     BIOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE

ACTION:

The Board heard presentations on various biotechnology issues; ON MOTION of Supervisor Jacob, seconded by Supervisor Cox, the Board of Supervisors directed the Chief Administrative Officer to review all the recommendations presented during the conference; and to come back to the Board with appropriate recommendations in support of the biotechnology industry.

ACTION:

The Board of Supervisors by vote of three members present; and voting District 2 and 4 absent; authorized the County to join as Amicus Curiae with the League of California Cities in support of the Metropolitan Water District in proceedings before the Second District Court of Appeal in the cases entitled Cargill versus Metropolitan Water District, Los Angeles Superior Court No. BC191881.

3.         SUBJECT:     PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS

Don Stillwell addressed the Board regarding publication communications and the County’s responses mailed to him regarding various issues he had raised during the Board of Supervisors meetings.

ACTION:

Heard; referred to the Chief Administrative Officer.

There being no further business, the Board adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
