ACTION:
ON MOTION of Commissioner
Mitchell, seconded by Commissioner Vizina, the Housing Authority approved
the Statement of Proceedings/Minutes for the meeting ofJune 13, 2001.

OVERVIEW: |
| |
The requested action
will approve a resolution adopting the proposed Statement of Procurement
Policy for the Housing Authority of the County of San Diego. The
proposed Statement of Procurement Policy provides for the fair and
equitable treatment of all persons or firms involved in purchasing
by the Housing Authority of the County of San Diego and assures
that supplies, services, and construction are procured efficiently,
effectively, and at the most favorable prices available to the Housing
Authority.

There is no fiscal impact
to this request. This request will result in no current year costs,
no annual costs and will require the addition of no staff years.

BUSINESS
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This request will have
a positive impact on the business community. The proposed Statement
of Procurement Policy promotes competition in contracting; provides
safeguards for integrity, and assures that the Housing Authority
of the County of San Diego’s purchasing actions are in full compliance
with applicable Federal standards, U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD) regulations, and State and local laws.

the Statement of Procurement Policy for the Housing Authority of
the County of San Diego

ON
MOTION of Commissioner Mitchell, seconded by Commissioner Vizina,
the Board of Commissioners of the San Diego Housing Authority took
action as recommended, on Consent, adopting Resolution No. 01-230,
entitled: RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY OF THE COUNTY OF SAN DIEGO APPROVING THE STATEMENT OF PROCUREMENT
POLICY AND AUTHORIZING ITS SUBMITTAL TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
