Meeting was called to order at 9:10 a.m.

Approval of In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority Statement of Proceedings/Minutes for meetings of  September 25, 2001

ACTION:

ON MOTION of  Supervisors Roberts, seconded by Supervisor Cox, the Board of Supervisors approved the Statement of Proceedings/Minutes for the meeting of September 25, 2001.

SUBJECT:

IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PUBLIC AUTHORITY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT (DISTRICT: ALL)

  OVERVIEW:
 

In response to a 1999 State mandate requiring the establishment of an employer of record for the In-Home Supportive Services program, the Board approved the introduction of the County ordinance creating the San Diego County In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority on June 12, 2001 (1) and authorized the Chief Administrative Officer to recruit and hire an Executive Director, subject to final approval by the Public Authority Governing Body.

The recruitment and selection process is now complete.  This item requests approval of the selection of Albert G. “Bud” Sayles as Executive Director and approval of the employment agreement between Mr. Sayles and the Public Authority Governing Body.

      FISCAL IMPACT:
 

Funds for this request are included in the Public Authority Fiscal Year 2001-02 Approved Operational Plan.

  RECOMMENDATION:
 

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:

Approve and authorize the Chairman of the County of San Diego In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority Governing Body to execute the employment agreement between the County of San Diego In-Home Supportive Services Public Authority and Albert G. Sayles for the position of Executive Director of the Public Authority for the duration December 3, 2001 through November 30, 2004.

  ACTION:
 

ON MOTION of Supervisor Roberts, seconded by Supervisor Cox, the Board of Supervisors took action as recommended, on Consent.

There being no further business, the Board adjourned at 12:18 p.m.
