WEDDINGS ON THE WEB!
SAN DIEGO - On Friday, June 1st, the County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk's
Office began
offering Webcasts of weddings in their beautifully decorated private
ceremony room at the County
Administration Center overlooking San Diego Bay. For a small fee, friends
and relatives will be able
to see and hear the ceremony live, even if they cannot make it to San
Diego in person.
"San Diego County is truly a cosmopolitan region. Couples that
have friends and family from all over the
country and the world come to our office each day for their wedding
ceremony. This exciting new service will
allow brides and grooms to share the joyous occasion with those unable
to attend in person," said Gregory J.
Smith, County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk. "We expect Webcast wedding
ceremonies to be extremely popular,
especially among military personnel."
Those wishing to broadcast their wedding over the Internet can call
the County Clerk's Office at (619) 237-0502 to schedule a convenient
time for their Webcast ceremony. The couple can invite their guests
via e-mail or electronic wedding invitations, and they can watch the
ceremony live by simply logging on to www.sdarcc.com at the appropriate
time and click on the wedding icon. Fees for an Internet wedding include
$50 for the license, $50 for the ceremony and $25 for the Webcast.
The Assessor/Recorder/Clerk's Office was greatly assisted in offering
this new service by the County Technology Office, Navisite and the Pennant
Alliance.
