WHO: County of San Diego Library staff
WHAT: The County Library’s shipment of 200 copies of
the fifth installment of the Harry Potter series will arrive
at the headquarters office on Tuesday, June 17. Library staff
will unpack the books, label them and process them for the system’s
32 branches. Local media are invited to videotape and/photograph
the books being processed, which will be available for checkout
by library patrons on Saturday morning, the book’s official
release date.

WHERE: County of San Diego Library headquarters, 5555 Overland
Ave., Building 15, San Diego
WHY: “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been
called the most anticipated book in the history of publishing.
It officially goes on sale at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Scholastic,
the book’s publisher, is printing 8.5 million copies.
The County Library is purchasing 200 copies, along with 41 audio
books on CD and cassette. As of today, 390 people have signed
up on the library’s waiting list to reserve the book.
While most of the books will go to those on the waiting list,
one copy per branch will go on the library shelves for check-out
by walk-in patrons on Saturday morning.

interviews about the Harry Potter book release.
