FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
June 7, 2003
SAN DIEGO - To honor the brave
men and women from San Diego County who served in Operation
Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, Supervisor Roberts
today unveiled the Wall of Heroes at the County Administration
Center downtown.
"Our soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen
have shown great courage and made great sacrifices to make our
world safer," said Roberts, who proposed creation of the
wall. "It's only fitting that we honor them for all they
have done."
The wall is adorned with photographs of those
military personnel who are either from San Diego or who are
stationed here. It is located in the first floor lobby of the
County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, in downtown
San Diego. The public may view the exhibit between the hours
of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It will be on display here until
at least the end of July before traveling to other local venues.
