NORTH COUNTY ROADS TO GET MORE GUARD RAILS
March 22, 2000

San Diego - County Supervisor Bill Horn announced today that several stretches of North San Diego County roads will be getting new guard rails. The new barriers will go up in District Five on North Center City Parkway near Ivy-Dell Lane, on Old Julian Highway near Vista Ramona and several sections of Pala Temecula Road.

"The new guard rails will benefit the surrounding areas by improving traffic safety in and around these communities," stated supervisor Horn.

The factors that the County Department of Public works uses to determine where new guard rails go include topography, roadway performance, the potential for severe accidents and weather conditions.

The Board of Supervisors will now advertise the project for public bidding and construction is scheduled to begin in May and should be completed in September 2000.
