Supervisor Roberts is pleased to sponsor the Lawn Mower Trade-In event, also known as the “Mowing Down Pollution” program.

As a member of the California Air Resources Control Board, Supervisor Roberts has been on the leading edge of cleaning up the air in San Diego and across California. Since 2000, more than 3,519 zero-emission mowers have been distributed in San Diego County, taking over 15 tons per year of volatile organic compounds (ozone precursors) emissions out of our air. This is equivalent to hourly emissions from approximately 140,760 late model automobiles.

Clearly, the Mowing Down Pollution program is making a difference in San Diego’s improved air quality and the quality of life of our citizens.
