    • Administration on Aging announces new Integrated Care Management Grants Program to support innovative approaches to the management of care in the Aging Services Network. A copy of the full program announcement can be found by clicking here.

    • UPDATE: CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF AGING AND AGING & INDEPENDENCE SERVICES AWARDED AGING AND DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTER GRANT!! On April 16, 2004, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy G. Thompson announced 12 new grants in its second round of funding. County of San Diego will receive $610,000 over the next three years to better meet the long term care service needs of the community with a “one stop shop” for resource information. This grant will support the LTCIP Network of Care Strategy. Click on the links below for more information:
    • The ASSISTED LIVING WAIVER PILOT PROJECT (ALWPP) was created in 2000 pursuant to legislation introduced by then Representative Dion Aroner. The legislation (AB 499) directed DHS to develop and implement assisted living as a Medi-Cal benefit and test the efficacy of assisted living as an alternative to long-term placement in a skilled nursing facility.
