Summary: The department inspects food and flower crops to exclude, detect and eradicate agricultural and horticultural pests; regulates pesticide use and worker health and safety; enforces standards and laws covering fruits, nuts, vegetables, eggs, nurseries, apiaries and seeds; compiles agricultural statistics; inspects weighing and measuring devices; and enforces the fair purchasing and labeling act.
