The Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board is composed of five members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. This Board is administered by the Clerk of the Board and is not a part of the Air Pollution Control District Office. The members of the Board have professional experience in the fields of medicine, engineering, law, and include two members of the public. The Board is an impartial entity established to hear and decide appeals from permit denials, application for variances from Air Pollution Control District Rules and Regulations, hear abatement order requests. Persons or companies requiring a variance from the Air Pollution Control District Rules may file a Request for Variance with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. An appropriate fee is collected at the time the variance is requested.
