Ask much of the country to tell you about their gardening activity in February, and they’ll be fairly quiet. Of course, their garden could be covered in snow or frozen solid, so you wouldn’t expect them to say much. Trouble is, much of Southern California also believes that winter is a time of garden inactivity. However, we have a year-round growing climate, so instead of waiting until spring, Tom’s says there is plenty for you to do outside right now. In this episode, Tom takes us through two common winter garden activities, pruning back deciduous fruit trees and roses. And he has some advice on dormant season pest control.
