Evolution of Top 10 Violations
Members of the EPIC+ Workgroup have conducted annual workshops based on the Top 10 most common violations found at San Diego County Biotech and R&D Facilities since 2004.
2004 Top 10
1. Hazardous waste container missing label or not properly labeled.
2. Hazardous waste training records unavailable.
3. Hazardous waste containers not kept closed.
4. Hazardous waste stored >90>180>270 days.
5. Hazardous waste manifest not managed properly
6. No annual carcinogen/reproductive toxin list submitted to HMD
7. Hazardous material inventory incomplete and/or hazardous material site map not sufficient.
8. No generator info on red bags or sharps containers
9. Medical waste red bags not containerized
10. Medical waste warning signs not posted
2005 Top 10
1. Hazardous waste container missing label or not properly labeled.
2. Hazardous waste training records unavailable.
3. Hazardous waste containers not kept closed.
4. Hazardous waste stored >90, >180, or >270 days.
