On this page, you will find information about applying for a housing health permit, resources for operating and living in a housing complex, rules & regulations, and resource materials available outside of the County of San Diego. The purpose of the housing program is to ensure safe housing such as rental units in regulated areas of the County. The Food and Housing Division enforces state laws pertaining to sanitation, maintenance, ventilation, and occupancy. Please be advised that this program does not serve the following cities: Chula Vista, El Cajon, Escondido, Imperial Beach, National City, Oceanside, or San Diego.
