Vapor Risk Calculations
Naphthalene
In August 2004, The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) adopted a cancer slope factor for naphthalene. Since naphthalene is present in all petroleum fuels, SAM is now requiring analysis for naphthalene at fuel release sites. Although naphthalene is not especially volatile, where appropriate, the risk to human health posed by exposure to vapors must be evaluated.
