The County's historic decision to reorganize and improve fire protection service in the County's rural backcountry received its final approval Nov. 19 when the state's Local Area Formation Commission signed the fire-protection plan. County Supervisors approved re-organizing backcountry fire agencies as the San Diego County Fire Authority in June.
