Progress Report to the Board of Supervisors
Staff provided a project update to the Board of Supervisors on July 23, 2008. The update includes a report on the progress to date and highlights key issues that staff has identified relating to the completion of the project. At the update hearing, the Board of Supervisors directed staff to remove a Specific Plan from the Valley Center Referral Map. This action resulted in a one month delay on some near term project deadlines, however the project remains on the overall schedule for completion in Fall 2010. An updated Valley Center Referral Map is on the General Plan Update Website under Land Use Alternatives. The Statement of Proceedings are now posted (Item 23) and Video of the Hearing is available on the County Television Network Website.
Community Plan Template Workshops
The General Plan Update Team will be holding three Community Plan Template Workshops, please see the meeting notice for more information.
- Central Mountain (Sizzler Banquet Room, 344 Main Street, Ramona) - 1:00 pm, July 29, 2008
- North County (Lilac School, Valley Center) - 6:00 pm, July 29, 2008,
- South/East County (Alpine Community Center) - 6:00 pm, July 30, 2008

Environmental Review
The General Plan Update has created a new Environmental Review page that will contain information on the Environmental Impact Report. Recently added is the Notice of Preparation, the Public Scoping Meeting and the Comments Received on the Notice of Preparation.
