UPCOMING MEETINGS:

Consultant Contract Initiated

We are pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with the firm PBS&J for the completion of the General Plan Update.

PBS&J is a well respected nationwide firm with substantial California general planning and EIR experience. Some of their current and past General Plan projects include the following counties and cities: Sutter, Riverside, Sacramento, Beverly Hills, Simi Valley, Brea, Newport Beach, Inglewood, Corona, and Pomona.

Mr. Kim Howlett will serve as the Project Director. Kim has over 30 years of experience in the San Diego region with planning and environmental projects. Services related to the General Plan Update will be directed by Elwood “Woody” Tescher. Woody has over 30 years of experience with urban planning and design throughout California. He is recognized for state-of-the-art development and application of planning and design and he is a frequent instructor for UCLA general planning and urban design courses. 

Interest Group Meeting

An Interest Group Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 10:00 am.  The meeting will be held at the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101 in the Tower 7/ Board Conference Room.  More information can be found here.

Community Meetings

General Plan Update staff will be giving updates to each Community Planning and Sponsor Group from January to April 2008.  The times and dates are located on our Website.

Website Updates

Three Proposed Land Use Alternatives have been updated on the General Plan Update website; the May 2007 - Draft Land Use Map, August 2007 - Draft Referral Map and the Hybrid Map.

Other updates include additions to the background information, including posting the Project Schedule for the General Plan Update.
