UPCOMING MEETINGS:

Project Update

The General Plan Update is currently working on drafting the Regional Elements, technical review, and development of implementation programs as outlined in our Project Schedule.  Technical review is underway on four of the six of the General Plans elements.

Additionally, the four Environmental Impact Report (EIR) map alternatives are complete and are available on our website. The website also includes population projections for each of the alternatives that were prepared and distributed this last month. The maps are continuing to undergo traffic modeling while initial preparation of the remainder of the EIR is progressing.

On May 15, 2008, General Plan Update staff held a Scoping Meeting to provide information related to the project and solicit comments on the EIR Notice of Preparation (NOP), which was issued April 28, 2008. The comment period for the NOP ended May 28, 2008.

Staff also provided a project update to the Planning Commission on May 30, 2008, and a similar update is tentatively scheduled for the Board of Supervisors for July 23, 2008.  The update includes a report on the progress to date and highlights key issues that staff has identified relating to the completion of the project. 

Interest Group Meeting

An Interest Group meeting will be held on June 27th, from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. The meeting will be held in room 302/303 at the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101. Meeting topics will include a review of comments on the Land Use Element, a presentation of the Conservation Subdivision Program and a presentation of the method for completing the Community Plans. 

Steering Committee Meeting

A Steering Committee Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon in the DPLU Employee Lunchroom, 5201 Ruffin Road, San Diego, CA., 92123. Meeting topics will include a review of comments on the Land Use Element, a presentation of the Conservation Subdivision Program and a discussion of the method for completing the Community Plans.
