UPCOMING MEETINGS:

Project Update

The General Plan Update is currently working on Drafting the Regional Elements, outlined in our Project Schedule.  Technical review on two of seven of the General Plans elements has begun, and the rest will begin technical review shortly. 

There have been a number of accomplishments since September 2007 when the new project management team took over: the Steering Committee and Interest Groups have met nine times, General Plan Update Staff has attended 26 community meetings and there has been great progress made on the initial sections of the draft environmental impact report. Staff will be giving a project update to the Planning Commission on May 30th and the Board of Supervisors sometime this summer.  Additionally, the four Environmental Impact Report Alternatives have been completed and are undergoing traffic modeling.

Notice of Preparation - Draft Environmental Impact Report

The Notice of Preparation of the Draft Environmental Impact Report has been distributed on April 28, 2008.  There will be a Public Scoping Meeting on May 15, 2008 at 5:30 pm in the DPLU Hearing Room, 5201 Ruffin Road, Suite B, San Diego, CA 92123.  

Environmentally Superior Alternative & Population Projections

The Environmentally Superior Alternative is complete and has been presented to our stakeholder groups.  Community Level Maps of all four alternatives, as well as descriptions of each are available on the General Plan Update, under Proposed Land Use Alternatives. Furthermore, Population Projections associated with each map alternative are are also now available.  

County of San Diego Website

Last month the County of San Diego unveiled its new and improved website.  New features attempt to make our site more user friendly for our customers.  Please be sure to update your favorites with our new site, and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
