Interactive maps of the North County Plan Area, and San Diego County in general, are available on the SanGIS website. Hard copies of maps are available from the map library. Users may download data for GIS use (requires an account with SanGIS), or can use the online interactive mapper to view MSCP maps in specific areas. The MSCP biodiversity website also provides an overview and photos of vegetation communities throughout San Diego County.

North County Plan Draft Analysis Map (version 8.0) - This map shows the preserve planning areas, existing preserves, and other lands and distinguishes between different land uses (natural, agricultural, and developed).

Habitat Evaluation Model Map - This map shows relative habitat values within the North County Plan. Evaluation rankings are based on physical landscape features, key species distributions (modeled habitat value for California gnatcatcher, Stephens' kangaroo rat, and Arroyo toad), sensitive species locations, and grassland habitat values.

California Gnatcatcher Model - Relative modeled habitat value for California gnatcatcher (Polioptila californica californica). This was determined using a combination of patch size and shape, slope, and climate (precipitation and average January minimum temperatures), all of which were shown to be correlated with use by the California gnatcatcher.

Stephens' Kangaroo Rat Model - Relative modeled habitat value for Stephens' kangaroo rat (Dipodomys stephensi). This was determined using a combination of soils, vegetation, and slope, all of which were shown to be correlated with use by Stephens' kangaroo rat.

Arroyo Toad Model - Relative modeled habitat value for Arroyo [southwestern] toad (Bufo californicus). This was determined using stream reaches known to have suitable habitat for the species and identifying the valley floor area around stream reaches (80 feet above the stream channel). Very high - natural vegetation within 500 feet of stream course. High - other areas of natural vegetation. Moderate - extensive agriculture. Low to none - areas mapped as developed.
