Diego County's Department of Public Works maintains nearly 2,000 miles of roads in unincorporated areas. We continually inspect, repair and maintain paved and unpaved roads to provide the best possible driving surfaces for our customers.

In addition, occasional events such as parades or street fairs may require closing a road temporarily.

You can help us by reporting road problems on line with the DPW Service Request Form.

Here is a listing of short-term Special Event permits that require road closures, suspension of "No Parking," etc.

The Traffic Control Permit Application and Special Event Permit Application are now available on line. Just click on the permit you want and submit it to us directly.

State highways (I-8, I-805, I-15, & SRs 52, 76, 78, 94, etc.) are maintained by Caltrans.

The following roads are scheduled for an event or repair work and may require temporary or sporadic closures.* Alternate routes are recommended to avoid delays.
