Welcome to the public-access website for EMAN, the Emergency Medical Alert Network of San Diego County. EMAN was developed by the Community Epidemiology Branch of the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency in 1999.
EMAN Mission Statement:
To facilitate confidential communication between public health and safety agencies and the San Diego County medical community to ensure rapid identification of and response to unusual disease events, including known or suspected disease clusters, outbreaks, and possible acts of bioterrorism.
EMAN Confidentiality:
EMAN alerts may contain information on investigations in progress and/or diagnoses that may not yet be confirmed. Access to alerts is therefore restricted to specific medical and public health personnel in San Diego County. Once received by an approved EMAN participant, EMAN alerts should not be further distributed. Local medical professionals should subscribe individually to receive EMAN alerts by using the online subscription feature provided on this website.
