Zoning and Permitting: AR-1-1 by the City of San Diego - all proposed uses must conform to all City of San Diego requirements - zoning, codes, licensing and permits, etc. All zoning and use questions should be directed to the City of San Diego Planning Department.
Present Use: Fallow, formerly leased for organic farming.
Comments: The County of San Diego is seeking lease proposals for approximately 141 acres of vacant, agricultural land within the City of San Diego. Property is within Tijuana River Valley Regional Park and subject to requirements and restrictions imposed by the County of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. Two sites are adjacent to a proposed San Diego County Water Authority mitigation project and may be subject to future access requirements. One site is part of a planned future parks recreational development. Sites are located within the floodplain of the Tijuana River and may be subject to flooding.
Preferred lessee(s) would be experienced agricultural producers or organic farmers with strong financial positions. all business proposals that comply with existing zoning and use requirements will be considered. Lessee(s) must be willing to professionally operate/maintain the site in compliance with all City and County regulations.
Potential lessee(s) will need to complete and submit to the Department of General Services Real Estate Division, a completed Proposer Statement Form. Parties whose proposals are accepted by the County may be required to submit a non-refundable check for $39.95 made out to “The County of San Diego”. The check will be used to pay for a third party credit check of applicant’s credit and rental history.
