Mental Health & Substance Abuse Workgroup Meetings

The goal of the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Workgroup was to make a recommendation to the larger Planning Committee regarding possible options for including mental health and substance abuse services and populations in LTCIP. The larger workgroup held its kick-off meeting on September 23, 2003. A smaller Working Committee was established and met on 10/21/03 to begin dialogue, brainstorming and the recommendation development process. Additional working committee meetings took place on 11/13/03, 11/19/03 and 12/18/03. A draft recommendation was developed during the 12/18/03 meeting and presented to the full LTCIP Mental Health & Substance Abuse Workgroup on January 7, 2004.

Stakeholders discussed, revised and gained consensus on the recommendations at the March 9, 2004 Planning Committee meeting. The LTCIP Advisory Group ratified the recommendations on June 30, 2004. The recommendations, including a rationale page, were distributed to all stakeholders and posted on the LTCIP website. The recommendations of all LTCIP Workgroups are reflected in the Administrative Action Plan for Healthy San Diego Plus. The workgroup has suspended meetings until it is deemed necessary to reconvene.
