Juvenile Forensic Services

Juvenile Forensic Services provides assistance to Juvenile Court, Children's Welfare Services, and the Juvenile Probation Department. 

Psychiatric and psychological services are provided at probation institutions including the Girls Rehabilitation Facility, Kearny Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility, East Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility, Juvenile Ranch Facility and Camp Barrett. Specialty mental health services including psychiatry and counseling are also provided at the Polinsky Children's Center. Juvenile Forensic Services provides transition mental health services to both wards and dependents of the court when they return to the community. Some services are also provided by contract agencies to wards and dependents.

Juvenile Forensic Services addresses the needs of approximately 3,700 children and youth annually.
