Community Health Statistics provides health statistics that describe health behaviors, diseases and injuries for specific populations, health trends and comparisons to national targets. Community Health Statistics also provides or refers persons to available local, state and national statistics.

About the Community Health Statistics Unit
The purpose of the Community Health Statistics Unit is to meet the needs of local health professionals, community-based organizations, the general public and County staff for community health statistics.

Community Profiles contain the most recent Demographic and Health data available by Region and community. This document is continually updated - check back again for the latest updates. The latest version below contains death data for 2000-2006. More updates will be coming soon.
- NEW! Healthy People 2010 San Diego is based on the national Healthy People 2010 framework of objectives in 28 focus areas.

Full Report data, graphs and discussion, includes regional data for many indicators.

NEW!At-a-Glance a summary table for quick comparison of data points for San Diego County, California, the U.S. and the Healthy People 2010 targets as well as progress indicators.
- NEW! California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) data tables for adults in San Diego County; some data available by HHSA Regions. These data are also in the Community Profiles. More data will be added including adolescent and child survey data.
- NEW! The Critical Pathways describe a continuum or pathway to disease outcome based on risk factors that are either modifiable or non-modifiable. They also display data for risk factors in the general population and medical encounter data for the outcome. This tool may help guide interventions by quickly identifying potential high impact opportunities. Outcomes available in this version: Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke, Cancer, Diabetes, Asthma, HIV/AIDS, Infant Mortality, and Obesity.
- NEW! San Diego Senior Health Report is a collaborative project with Aging & Independence Services addressing health issues for seniors.

Health Indicator Maps are PDF maps of selected health indicator rates. Rates are mapped by community (SRA) to allow a quick visual survey of community health rates.
- Public Health Services Data Workshops will help you learn more about the public health services data available and how to access it. The Workshop has been revised and is now offered in a 2-part series: Get to Know Public Health Services Data and Learn to Use Public Health Services Data. Next workshops: June 9 & 16, 2008.

Historical Reports are reports published in past years that have been replaced by the online Community Profiles. The online Community Profiles have updated data since the Core and Trend documents were last produced and incorporate both trend and detail data for all indicators.
- The Core Public Health Indicators document provides the most commonly requested public health data for San Diego County. This document is now replaced by the Community Profiles (above).
- The Trends In Selected Public Health Indicators document provides multiple years of data for selected public health indicators. This document is now replaced by the Community Profiles (above).
