Healthy Families

  • Beginning January 1, 2013, children enrolled in the Healthy Families Program are being transitioned into the Medi-Cal program.
  • This transition will take place throughout 2013. All Healthy Families Program members will be receiving letters explaining the changes to their healthplan.

Medi-Cal for Children

What services are covered?

  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision care
  • Prescription medicines, mental health services and hospitalizations

Who can be covered?

  • Children ages 0 through 21, who are legal residents of the U.S., live in California, and DO NOT qualify for other health insurance options.
  • Eligibility is based upon income and size of family.

Medi-Cal for Women

What services are covered?

  • Pregnancy and postpartum related services including dental care

Who can be covered?

  • Pregnant women
  • Eligibility is based upon income and size of family

Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM)

What services are covered?

  • Prenatal visits and hospital delivery
  • Full health care services during pregnancy and through 60 days after delivery
  • Full health care services for newborn up to age two
  • Prescription and lab costs
  • No dental services

Who can be covered?

  • Pregnant women (not more than 30 weeks pregnant at the time of application)
  • Residents of California
  • Babies born to mothers while covered by AIM (0 to 2 years old)
