California Smokers Helpline

The California Smokers Helpline at 800-NO BUTTS (800-662-8887) provides telephone based counseling.  Helpline services are free, funded by the California Department of Public Health and by First 5 California.  The Helpline has been in operation since 1992.  Every month, thousands of Californians call and receive help quitting.

If you are on Medi-Cal, smoking cessation classes as well as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (Nicorette Gum or Transdermal patches) might be covered. Call your Medi-Cal provider or your Medi-Cal Managed Care Provider (member services) to see if cessation help is covered.
